Barrett joined Wireside in May 2019 with a year of full-time experience working as a publicist and social media specialist, and five years of freelance PR experience. She graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Relations, and has since helped dozens of businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists cultivate their brands and earn excellent reputations.

After getting her start as an Executive Assistant to the Chairwoman and Executive Director at the Democratic Party of Virginia in 2016, Barrett took a more senior role, managing publicity for NextGen Virginia, a political organization focused on mobilizing college-aged voters across the Commonwealth. As State Communications Director of NextGen Virginia, Barrett took an organization that was brand new to Virginia and in a matter of months, gave it a public reputation as the authority on young voters. As part of her strategy, Barrett mobilized, organized and coached a 70-person staff of co-eds to become excellent spokespeople, planned and executed state-wide media events multiple times a week, and caught the attention of high-profile national and international political reporters.

Barrett began her career in PR in 2013 interning and freelancing with a series of small businesses and startups, managing their press relations, marketing, branding and social media presence.

Barrett lives in Richmond and loves to spend her free time relaxing with friends, volunteering, and playing with her pet dog, Sephora.
