Nick Gibiser joined Wireside as a Program Coordinator in February 2017. Nick began his career in communications at MissionCTRL Communications in San Francisco. At MissionCTRL, he focused on the clean tech industry, promoting clients’ innovations to support wide-reaching media campaigns.
A graduate of the University of Virginia (U.Va.), Nick earned his B.A. in Media Studies in May 2016. In the Fall of 2015, Nick co-created “Trump the Data,” a website that aggregated tweets about Donald Trump and analyzed them based on many factors, including sentiment and geography. While studying at the University, Nick served as Newcomb Hall Operations Manager for the Office of the Dean of Students, coordinating and organizing events held at Newcomb Hall and its five satellite buildings. He was also an associate producer for American Forum, a weekly public affairs television program filmed at U.Va. and broadcast on PBS stations serving 85% of all U.S. markets. At American Forum, he performed extensive research and scripted shows featuring guest interviews, including Governor John Kasich; reviewed each uncut taping, suggested edits for time; and critiqued interview strategy.
Nick was a Humor Writer for The Cavalier Daily, U.Va.’s student-operated independent news organization and Charlottesville’s oldest daily newspaper. He published “The Political Economy of Journalism” in Movable Type, and “Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe” in DOC LANDS. Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Ashburn, Virginia, Nick spends his free time reading, writing, and trying to cook. He also performs improv comedy.
